The Beijing Meijiang Education Foundation (abbreviated as Meijiang Foundation), incorporated on September 2, 2005 and operating under the supervision of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, was registered with the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau as a non-public funding foundation. Since its establishment, a series of student aid projects have been carried out in Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, Beijing, Fujian and Jiangsu to help tens of thousands of poor minority students successfully complete their studies.

The sponsored Hetian Bilingual Experimental Middle School, Idaliang Primary School, Wakwak Primary School and Harajun Township Central Primary School are located in Xinjiang Hetian Prefecture and Kizilesu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture in the very west of the motherland.

The Hetian Prefecture, the Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture and the Aksu Prefecture, and the
Kashgar Prefecture are known as four prefectures in South Xinjiang. Thirty-three counties and cities are scattered in the southern, western and Northern margins of the Taklimakan Desert, where more than 90% of the population is Uygur, affected by the natural environment, and the per capital net income of farmers is lower than the average level of Xinjiang. There are poor living conditions, inconvenient transportation, poor learning environment and inadequate allocation of education. Many children even need to climb mountains and cliffs to go to school.

Upholding the principle of “Passing on Love, and Planting Hope,” the Meijiang Foundation has carries out various aid activities, which not only creates educational opportunities for the children of the impoverished minority nationalities in the region, but also helps the children to learn scientific and cultural knowledge, enhance their abilities and enrich their life experiences by helping them learn gratitude and turn today’s feeling of love into tomorrow’s caring for more groups, into a strong motivation to study harder and work harder, and repay the care and support from all walks of life with better academic achievements.
